This is a full time position to assist Team Rome IT in the ongoing operation of a DoD Network Control Center. The successful candidate will work within a multi-discipline team responsible for supporting Cisco network equipment ranging from access to edge devices in a campus environment for AFRL. Rome. Tasking will include install/upgrade/support/troubleshooting of network firewalls, switches and routers, and of ancillary, network based environmental monitors. Configuration Management tasks, network maps and system documentation are an important aspect of this position.

Job Requirements :
The candidate must be familiar with the engineering, operation, and maintenance of Cisco network equipment at the Access, Distribution and Core levels a working knowledge of collapse core architecture is a must. Candidate primary focus will be on the network boundary and associated technology. Candidate is able to work well in a team environment withstrong communication skills.This candidate must have a strong understanding of the following networking technologies:Core competencies should include:
Cisco IOS and NX-OS
SolarWinds Orion suite (SNMP Collection Station)
Management of Access lists (Standard, Extended and Access Maps)
Layer Three Routing: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DMVPN
Load Balancing: GLBP, HSRP, Port Channels (VPC)
Layer Two Switching: VLAN Spanning Tree, Vlan Pruning
Engineering knowledge ofAdaptive Security Appliance (ASA)
ASA configuration and maintenance
802.1x (Port Security)
Virtual Device Context (VDC) engineering
Nexus Switch Profiles
Subnetting
Cisco ACS (TACACs)

4 year degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience
1-3 years’ experience operating and maintaining a DoD or Air Force Cisco network environment highly desirable.
Must be flexible on duty hours and travel in support of non-routine operations and training support
Preferred:
Familiarity with DoD and US Air Force instructions and regulations on network security and operation a plus.
Preferred certifications include Cisco CCNA DC and CCIP.
