Senior Paralegal, Life & Retirement
The candidate will work with a team of lawyers and other professionals who are responsible for legal support of the Life Company’s registered products, product development, underwriting, operations, contract matters, customer service and multiple strategic projects. Reports directly to the Associate General Counsel, Life Insurance, within firm's Life and Retirement. Will be working on all aspects of legal support of life insurance including legal research, drafting and review of relevant documentation. Should have general contract review, researching of corporate and business unit policies/procedures, support of federal and state legislation tracking and related tasks, and special projects support. Must have 5 years of relevant industry and/or major law firm experience. Should have proven problem-solving skills that demonstrate creativity and commitment to firm's core values of integrity, collaboration, and diversity of perspectives—critical to becoming our clients’ most valued insurer. Must have demonstrated ability to balance thoughtful decision making with careful and timely execution. Should have strong communication, analytical, organizational, research and writing skills. Should have excellent collaboration skills and a willingness to “pitch in” to support, enrich and strengthen the Life & Retirement Legal Team.
