Materials Distribution Specialist

In this role, you will be responsible for planning and verifying all parts purchased, issued, and removed from assigned work orders.  You will be working directly with team leads and Project Manager to ensure the timely delivery, purchasing cost, and profit objectives obtained. 
Essential Job Functions:
Coordinates and verifies all material transactions associated with assigned work orders ensuring all materials required have been properly posted, costed, and that the freight, and sell prices are accurate. All removed equipment is properly accounted for, and logged in the Pentagon system. All exchange cores, part repairs, credits, and returns are processed, closed, and accounted for prior to work order closing.
Completes quote
& purchase requests by verifying inventory and checking supplier sources for those items; prepares purchase orders for ordering stock and supplies; inputting purchase orders; expediting deliveries; Negotiates with suppliers to obtain optimum quality, cost, terms etc.
Maintains master part number file by updating cross-reference data; updating price information, etc.
Ensures the accurate input and timely flow of Purchase orders/Sales orders and all associated documentation for assigned work orders.
Identifies and recommends suppliers by evaluating potential suppliers; researching parts, equipment, materials availability and price.
Maintains Purchase/Sales order file system by following policies and procedures; searching for misplaced items; reporting and recommending continuous improvement items.
Recommends the replenishment of inventory, updates to min/max levels providing information and trends to support the recommendations to the Inventory Manager.
Available to fill in for Inventory Specialist, Shipping and Receiving and peer Material Planners.
Keeps immediate supervisor, appropriate department heads, and coworkers informed of all price increases,
supplier buyouts, part number changes, supplier performance issues, quality issues, and updates the Pentagon system etc.

Knowledge of and experience with computers
Ability to:

Analyze and interpret the most complex documents
Respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to top management, customers, and the general public
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
3-5 years of general aviation parts, completions, avionics parts, and/or supplies or proven Material Management & Supplier interface experience
