Profile

The Refrigeration Mechanic must contain a working knowledge of the refrigeration system for the entire plant. The mechanics will take care of the plant’s ammonia system, Freon system, and chilled water system, hydraulics, and plate freezers for pet food. The mechanic must be able to fill-in for another’s absence. The mechanic must be familiar with Process Safety Management and will perform day to day task assigned to them. The Refrigeration Mechanic position is a 24/7 365 job. Tech must be able to troubleshoot computer software for the Symax Control Systems. The tech will monitor and make adjustments to the equipment as needed. All techs are HAZ-MAT certified; this is due to the techs dealing with ammonia.The techs have a basic understanding of welding; this is for minor welding of plate freezers frames, stacking racks, etc.

POSITION INVOLVES:FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS.KEEPING WORK AREA CLEAN.WORKING IN A GROUP TO PERFORM VARIOUS TASKSCOMMUNICATING EFFECTIVELY BOTH ORALLY, AND IN WRITINGORGANIZE, AND PRIORITIZE TASKS, TO ENSURE WORK IS COMPLETE, AND CORRECT.STANDING, WALKING, HEAVY LIFTING, BENDING, REACHING, STOOPING, AND CLIMBING.WORKING INSIDE, ON SLIPPERY SURFACES, AROUND MOVING OBJECTS, IN HIGH HUMIDITY, POSSIBLY IN HIGH PLACES, AND/OR IN CRAMPED WORKING QUARTERS.SITTING, STANDING, AND PULLING.WORKING WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS.ALL MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES, AS ASSIGNED.MUSCULAR / SKELETAL REQUIREMENTS:GOOD MANIPULATION OF HANDS, ARMS, LEGS, AND FEET.CAPABLE OF LIFTING 40 LBS.CAPABLE OF STANDING/WALKING FOR 3 TO 4 HOURS AT A TIME.CAPABLE OF PASSING THE HAZMAT PHYSICAL EXAMINATION. ABLE TO MEET ESSENTIAL JOB FUCHTIONS FOR THIS JOB CLASSIFICATION.
