The Application Engineer II will provide technical product selection and application support to internal and external customers and understand requirements for challenging applications.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:  

*Provide technical support via phone and e-mail for both internal and external sales people in the areas of product selection and application. *Develop and communicate solutions for unique applications including design and special pricing. *May travel to resolve field problems. *Develop and find solutions to field application problems. *May negotiate with internal and external customers. *Provide technical product application support.  Understand requirements for challenging applications. *Possess a solid understanding of national codes and standards as they pertain to kitchen ventilation application and design. *May develop solutions for challenging applications in compliance with industry codes and standards. *Assist/manage the development and updating of product literature. *Responsible for identifying key selling points. *Responsible for assisting in market studies. *Identify and communicate market needs as related to price and lead-time.  *Evaluate our product offering for quality, reliability and performance and share findings that may enhance the product offering with engineering and sourcing. *Maintain familiarity with competitor’s products and identify opportunities. *Develop, organize, and present training seminars virtually.  *Conduct product training seminars for both customers and our rep partners at Education Center. *Understand competitors product offering and quoting techniques to assist in strategic competitive product selection   *May supervise direct reports within the department. 
*Become a trusted resource for Greenheck Mechanical Representatives for Kitchen Ventilation System projects.  Encourage Greenheck Reps to uncover, pursue and bring KVS opportunities forward to work together as a team to increase our order closure rate.  Develop a strong working relationship with Regional Sales Managers and Greenheck Customer Care Team to insure complete customer satisfaction on KVS orders. 
 
Job Qualifications:

*Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regular four-year college program or Associates Degree in technical field accompanied by two or more years of related technical work experience. *Approximately 3-5 years of technical customer service work experience is desired. *Must possess excellent people skills with a strong desire to go above a beyond to service the customer. Must demonstrate patience when dealing with customers with wide variances in product and application knowledge and be willing to take the necessary time to completely satisfy their needs.
