Job Overview
The Lyon Martin Health Services/Women’s Community Clinic Behavioral Health Therapist (BHT) has a special focus on the needs of the LGBTQ community and women’s health issues, focusing on serving women, trans, and gender non-conforming community members. 
The BHT is responsible for providing clinically, culturally, gender affirming and appropriate outpatient mental health and co-occurring substance use disorder services in a medical setting to clinic patients, including crisis intervention, brief behavioral interventions, psychosocial assessments, supportive short- and long-term counseling/psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, , gender affirming procedure assessments, and appropriate internal/external referrals. The BHT is expected to maintain a high degree of professional competence and the highest possible ethical standards, and to work collaboratively as part of an integrated health care team. The BHT may be required to work evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care Responsibilities
Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats mental health/substance use disorders within individual client sessions
Demonstrates strong clinical knowledge of and commitment to healthcare for trans and gender non-conforming folks, LGBTQ communities, and women.
Completes gender affirming procedure assessments for clients and community members to increase accessibility to gender affirming healthcare
Successfully de-escalates clients in psychiatric emergencies or high emotional distress Facilitates group therapy which fosters safety, consistency, and socialization
Utilizes appropriate referral and collateral sources to best support each client
Performance and Quality Improvement Responsibilities: 
Meets benchmarks for applicable visit numbers and quality indicators as assigned
Meets benchmarks for all contract and grant deliverables
Strong initiative and enthusiasm and willingness to pitch in whenever needed
Along with colleagues, assists in continuous quality improvement through on-going problem/needs identification and problem solving and, as requested, acts as a champion of change and a leader for improvement activities
Organizational Responsibilities: 
Adheres to company dress code and maintains professional appearance 
Completes mandatory trainings within deadlines
Willing and able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends 
Maintains availability for various administrative/clinical duties as requested by supervisor (e.g., case presentations; in-service training to staff)

Supervision of students and interns
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience Required:  
Graduation from an accredited school of social work with a master’s degree or a school of psychology with a PsyD. or PhD.
Possession of a valid California license as an LCSW or PsyD.
 Desired:
Bilingual Spanish/English fluency; other bilingual or multilingual fluency also welcome
EMDR training/certification
Supervisory experience
 Knowledge Required:
Culturally sensitive and able to work with a diverse population
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Outlook and internet applications
Desired:
Proficiency with E-Clinical Works (ECW)
