Senior Assistant General Counsel - Transactions Unit
The candidate will be responsible for independently handling a wide array of procurement and contract issues and who will provide legal counsel to senior managers. Will work under the direct supervision of the Deputy General Counsel. Join the Transactions Unit at a transformative time and will contribute to significant process improvements. Independently negotiate and draft all of the documents necessary to procure goods and services on behalf of the CPS. Work closely with the Procurement Department and internal CPS departments to prepare and review solicitations (e.g., Bids, Requests for Proposal, and Requests for Qualification, etc.). Independently negotiate and draft sales and purchase agreements, letters of intent, leases and lease amendments, license agreements, rights of entry, donation agreements and brokerage agreements. Ensure compliance with all Board Policies. Review and assist with the development of in cooperation with Procurement and other departments. Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in the State of Illinois. Should have 5+ years of related transactional experience.
