Duties: Under the direction of the Dean and the Chair of either the Department of Criminal Justice or the Department of History and Political Science, the Director of National Security Studies (INSS) will develop and supervise all INSS programs, fund raising and provide management of all INSS activities. 1) oversee for-credit and non-credit curriculum development and instruction for all University programs 2) effectively implement administrative decisions, state regulations and UVU policies and procedures; 3) serve as liaison with outside agencies, and UVU senior administration; 4) work to achieve University goals regarding community engagement and student success through the development and implementation of new programs including emerging best practices 5) develop and implement University goals including strategic plans, mission/vision and objectives; 6) coordinate and participate in development activities in cooperation with University Development office and within a two year period be responsible to meet funding expectations through grants and contracts. 7) act as the UVU resident expert and spokesperson for UVU INSS initiative to public, media, legislative representatives, and educational partners including public presentations at key national and international conferences, guest lectures for educational institutions, etc. 8) teaches up to six course per year and participates in a variety of learning environments and activities.
