Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) Surgical Services Operating Room Director

The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily management and operations of the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hybrid OR's, Cardiac Surgery OR's and Vascular Surgery OR's. Postion requires 24 hour accountability and responsibility for a direct care nursing area providing a vital link between the strategic direction of the organization and the point of care. Surgical Services Operating Room Director  is responsible for creating safe, healthy environments that support the work of the health care team and contribute to patient and employee engagement. A BSN is required.

Education:

*Graduate of school of professional nursing. *BSN Required; Master’s preferred
 
Experience: Minimum 5 years or equivalent experience in a leadership or management positions in a healthcare environment with a minimum of 3 years clinical and operational expertise.
Licensure/Certifications/Registration:

*Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. *AHA BLS-HCP required. *May be required to obtain/maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP based on specific work unit. *In Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, de-escalation training must be successfully completed within four months of hire and then maintained going forward. *Licensure and/or certification in medical or management related discipline preferred. *Certified in specific area of focus a plus.
Other Minimum Qualifications

*Demonstrates excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, team leadership, priority setting and work competency skills. *Promotes a respectful, inclusive culture of service excellence. *In Psychiatry and Behavioral Health must possess ability to appropriately handle/restrain patients who may be disruptive and/or physically violent.
