Electrical Designer

Profile

Profile:
· Uses CAD drafting and design software to produce electrical design drawings such as power plans, MCC arrangements, panel layouts, single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting plans, etc. Designs will be developed from various sources such as existing drawings, field sketches, and engineer’s notes, and will be based on industry standards and national / local codes.
Principle Responsibilities:
· Develop electrical design drawings per direction of identified project lead. · Develop electrical design drawings per identified drawing standards and formats. · Interface and coordinate with other electrical designers and disciplines to ensure that drawings are accurate.
Job Requirements :
Experience and Job Skills:
· Must have competency knowledge and understanding of the following equipment and components, (switch gears, sub-stations, MCC’s, panels, transformers, disconnects, motors, receptacles) · Must have experience in single line design. · Must have experience in interior lighting design. · Experience in fire alarm system design is a plus. · Experience in data communications and security system designs are a plus. · Degree or training from a recognized CAD training facility preferred. · Minimum 3 years experience in electrical designing / drafting. · Computer literate in AutoCAD 2010 or higher. · Experience with 3-D CAD software is a plus. · Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Excel, Word). · Must be able to work with minimum supervision and capable of self-checking. · Good written and verbal communication skills.
