The leader in this role will develop people, form strong working partnerships with business and technology leaders, plan and deliver on cloud migration and subject area development goals, contribute to evolving use of data and decision intelligence led solutions for solving problems, and scale the impact of data through development of scalable, cloud native services.
This role requires stellar technical, business and communication skills to be able to collaborate with business and technology leaders to co-create and understand key enterprise outcomes in addition to being able to build and operate continuous deployment event-driven processing and API enablement pipelines. This role requires exceptional cloud data engineering skills and experience implementing real-time data and model serving services to produce actionable insights.
Your key areas of responsibility are to:
Bring a creative and innovation-driven mindset with the ability to articulate engineering design strategies related to scale, performance, security, and usability
Manage a team of Engineering professionals to deliver quality products on time.
Manage Agile processes such as Iteration Planning, Retrospective, Design Reviews, and test planning
Work closely with multiple subject area teams to leverage their platforms and capabilities and expand as needed while supporting operational teams to help run the day-to-day business
Work with Architects, Engineers, QA and Developers and understands the relationships between systems.
Manage multiple projects while successfully navigating competing priorities, schedules, and resources
Partner with Product Managers and business stakeholders to understand business nuances and build solutions that meets their expectations.
Lead, coach, and inspire the team, while creating an inclusive team culture that enables all members of different disciplines thrive
Provide strategic and day-to-day guidance to the product and engineering team
Hire, attract and retain top talent, creating a cohesive culture that fosters innovation, transparent and collaboration
Set performance and development plans for team leaders. Provide regular feedback and coaching to enhance potential. Recognize team successes and challenges
Minimum Qualifications:
6 or more years’ experience of progressive, software engineering experience and a bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field OR equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience
6 or more years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: application delivery, product design and product strategy, subject matter expertise in cloud native tools and delivery
2 or more years’ experience directly managing engineering teams
5 or more years’ experience running large cross-functional projects
5 or more years’ experience building cloud native solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
9 or more years of progressive experience in one or more of the following areas: application delivery, product design and product strategy, subject matter expertise in cloud native tools and delivery
5 or more years’ experience directly managing, coaching, and mentoring engineers.
Building and optimizing data pipelines using one or more integration patterns and solutions (e.g., ETL/ELT, Replication/CDC, Message driven, Event driven, Event sourcing, Streaming API design, CQRS and more)
Implementing DevSecOps and CI/CD practices at scale
Pivoting teams from project delivery to agile practices and then transforming to a product led operating model
Assessing skills needed on the team, and work to fill those roles by hiring and training an inclusive, diverse team
Deeply understanding the value of, and the ability to, enable collaboration between engineers, product managers, decision scientists, and leaders
