The Clinical Design Strategist Lead is a member of the Clinical Strategy and Quality team responsible for conducting research and moving from insights to implementation for clinical programs. You will work with key leaders and teams across Humana as well as with colleagues from disciplines such as Product Management, Data and Engineering as well as product owners in specialty or operational areas. This position will focus on advancing the Stabilize Journey to understand and address members needs during and after acute hospitalization. As a Clinical Design Strategist Lead in the Clinical Strategy and Quality team, you will intersect closely with other design strategists responsible for clinical programs in the portfolio to ensure connected experiences for our members and enable cross collaboration and professional development.

Responsibilities

Location: Remote

As a member of Stabilize, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of product concepts and test and learns rooted in member needs post hospitalization. They could be member-facing or associate-facing. Your deliverables could be Journey Maps, Service Blueprints, project roadmaps, or test and learn plans to understand feasibility and desirability and inform iterative scaling plans. The ideal candidate has experience leading work in greenfield and brownfield environments and navigating matrixed organizations.

Responsibilities include:


Framing problems and opportunity spaces using inputs from stakeholders, end users and secondary research
Plan and execute primary research to uncover deep insights and identify opportunity areas impactful to both the user and Humana
Plan and execute work-sessions with a broad range of stakeholders helping to gain alignment at every stage of development
Advocate for member needs with peers and leaders, constantly striving to improve the member's journey and experience using evidence-backed insights
Create and orchestrate experiences that are desirable for members, viable for the business, and operationally and technically feasible.
Generate and articulate future concepts and experiences that envision how people will interact with the products and services we design
In conjunction with product owners/Product managers plan and execute test and learn experiments to validate or invalidate key experience and performance indicators
Be an excellent communicator and comfortable presenting everything from research to design solutions, both verbally and visually to colleagues, stakeholders and senior leaders
Justify design decisions, give honest feedback to others, and leverage your communication skills to influence and guide the broader strategy


Role Essentials


Bachelor's degree
6-8 years or more of experience as a Design Strategist, Design Researcher, Service Designer, User Researcher, or Business Designer
Clinical experience
Must be a systems-thinkers who can think holistically and comfortable with the full end-to-end design process.
Must be adept at generative research and sense-making at the fuzzy front-end of projects - have diverse research methodologies in their toolkit - are strong in synthesis
Must have both an individual contributor and team player mindset
Must have led projects across multiple workstreams or business units
Can help stakeholders make strategic trade-offs and prioritize
Can manage stakeholders vertically and horizontally; can lead workshops and facilitation
Has brought a solution to market
Has high emotional intelligence and social intelligence - has high cultural competency - are creative and adaptable in the face of blockers
