We are seeking a self-motivated, intelligent UI Engineer with experience building front-ends for large-scale enterprise-class software products for our international engineering team. As UI Engineer, you will work collaboratively with fellow team members to design and refine product features and enhancements, and to help bring mockups and prototypes to life. You will work with designers, developers, marketing, and product development to create international version of high-trafficked, brand-named sites like eHow, LIVESTRONG, and TypeF.
Responsibilities:
Convert PSD’s into clean and easy to maintain HTML, and CSS.
Create intuitive, robust, and reusable user interfaces with JavaScript.
Participate in the design and development of new UI functionality for web applications.
Find solutions for cross browser issues in both HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
Requirements:
5 years of building, tweaking and extending Web sites or apps.
Strong knowledge with HTML and CSS to create tableless websites that adhere to web standards.
Defeat cross-browser bugs and know how to handle the dreaded beast that is IE 6.
Regularly use server-side template languages such as Django and Jinja,
Intermediate skill in Photoshop. Cutting up PSD’s and optimizing images.
Ability to work well in a team of Designers, Product Managers, and other developers.
Familiarity with development in a LAMP environments.
Strong JavaScript and JQuery skills.
Understand the impact front-end development decisions have on design and back-end development.
Knowledge with version control and bug tracking systems. (Specifically Git is a plus)
Experience with AJAX technologies and techniques.
Passionate about the Internet and keep up with the latest services, technologies and trends.
Excellent written communication and verbal agility are necessary for cross-team collaboration.
Experience building upon existing APIs, both internal and 3rd party (Twitter, Flickr, Facebook).
