The role of IT Services Engineer is to support and maintain the IT environment/infrastructure (PCs, network, Audio Visual equipment and other key IT services). This key role provides an exciting opportunity for a combination of front-line technical support with the opportunity to lead innovation and service improvements for students, faculty and staff through discovering appropriate technical solutions.
You must be proactive in problem-solving technical issues independently and function well as a member of a multi-person IT team. This role requires an in-depth technical knowledge of core business infrastructure such as servers, networks, desktops, tablets and audiovisual. You should also be comfortable working with and sometimes managing a remote-based IT support vendor.
The primary responsibilities of this position are:
Serve as primary liaison with IT Engineering team who require onsite technical assistance in resolving issues
Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT hardware and software
Project manage the implementation of new IT systems, hardware and software and any changes to existing systems
Configuration and change management of IT infrastructure in working with IT and campus management
Ensure IT security standards are maintained
Administer support and improve key printer and wireless networks
Administer system access across multiple user groups
Management of Hult’s video conferencing and audio visual facilities across campus
Provide IT and AV Technical supportPerform hardware and software diagnostics, log faults and oversee repair of equipment where required
Monitor and implement IT security system updates on a regular basis Identify areas of IT Services improvements and drive through change within organization
Administer and support of a telecom infrastructure
Requirements
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows and MacOS
Practical working knowledge of network operations and configuration
Skilled or educated in systems analysis and configuration
Knowledge and experience in Active Directory
Previous experience working in a highly customer-focused environment.
Excellent communication skills and experience explaining and presenting the use of IT systems and equipment.
Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and service requests.
Extensive experience working in an IT support environment, preferably in the education sector
Deep knowledge of operating systems, software and hardware
Good working knowledge of latest IT trends and technologies.
