Responsible for administering routine, critical care and diagnostic procedures to patients suffering from acute and chronic respiratory and cardiac problems. Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1.* In accordance with established policies, administers and monitors critical care procedures, such as mechanical ventilation, physiological monitoring, and diagnostic procedures as designated by Director. 2.* Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation as required in emergency cases. 3.* In accordance with established policies and procedures, administers routine therapy such as oxygen, aerosol, humidity, chest physical, hyperinflation, and also provides home care instruction. 4.* Performs complex and/or non-routine therapeutic procedures, such as modifying equipment to meet specific, critical care patients needs. 5.* Instructs new employees by demonstrating medication preparation, charting, reporting procedures and equipment setup and operation.','Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required 1. Knowledge of respiratory care principles, terminology, procedure and technique, as well as equipment operation and maintenance as normally acquired through completion of two years post high school training at an AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy. 2. Accredited in Basic Life Support and ACLS within 6 months of start date. 3. Must be a Registry Eligible or Registered Respiratory Therapist and hold a current license in the state of Nebraska.
