Associate Lab Microbiologist

Summary:

Responsibilities will vary from performing one procedure or work instruction on several analytical microbiological or quality system procedures or work instructions in a food safety laboratory.

The salary is $20.60 and is non-negotiable. This position is primarily an A-shift (first shift) position with a rotation to cover weekends and holidays. Candidates must be able to start work within 3-4 weeks from offer date.

Duties/Responsibilities :

Precision and accuracy in performance of the work instructions and data collection is essential.

Must be able to maintain ISO records for process control and comply with quality system and safety requirements.

Initial proficiency testing must be passing, and competency will be verified at least annually thereafter. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency and growth after training;

Other duties as assigned.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed.

Must have general knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications.

Requirements:

Resume is required and must contain contact information, work experience/history, skills and education.

College degree in biology, microbiology, chemistry, food science and or physical sciences required. Preference given to applicants with prior laboratory experience related to microbiology and/or chemistry followed by applicants with education in microbiology and/or chemistry.

This is an entry-level position with no reimbursement available for interview, travel or moving expenses.

Preference given to internal qualified candidates currently employed at this facility followed by candidates from other Tyson facilities then external candidates.
