The candidate will report a nationally known health policy expert, who is joining the faculty at Medical School to serve as a hub for the School's work on policy-related research and initiatives on biomedical innovation and health care transformation and advance the School's mission of redesigning health care around value. Responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating large public health program(s), projects, and/or study activities that focus on innovations in health care delivery and payment that will ensure better care, smarter spending and healthier people. Conduct analyses of quality, cost and access impacts of alternative state health reform proposals and support collaboration with other experts and stakeholders in developing state health reform proposals. Provide state health policy research and analysis. Present analyses and recommendations in research and public forums. Stay abreast of current developments in Texas health policy and participate in efforts to share Texas experiences and learn from other states. Provide support and assistance in the formulation of state health policy reform initiatives in partnership with Medical School leadership.
