Duties: Focus on theoretical, applied, and public policy aspects of illicit and licit substance abuse and requisite impacts on crime and or delinquency patterns. Research on policing, court and correctional responses to the control, suppression, and prevention of substance abuse; illegal drug markets and their distribution patterns, drug courts, drug and alcohol treatment programs, adolescent drug use patterns, the effects of drug policy on criminalization and incarceration rates in general and on disempowered populations in particular, the effects of decriminalization and the legalization of some drugs and their subsequent social impacts.
