Associate Director of Intellectual Property
The candidate will report to the Senior Associate Director of IP-Wyss within the Office of Technology Development. Will support the intellectual property operations at the University to, assess the patentability of new inventions disclosed by Wyss faculty and Wyss research staff. Develop and implement, with the Wyss Director of Business Development, innovative, novel strategies to patent and protect Wyss technologies and inventions. Obtain and maintain intellectual property protection through external counsel, as appropriate. Working under direction, communicate effectively with a broad range of constituents including members of OTD, Wyss faculty. Under direction, conduct due diligence of the IP of potential industrial partners and licensees, as appropriate. Under direction, assist in the development and implementation of effective strategies to commercialize the intellectual property assets of the Wyss Institute at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., as appropriate, to meet strategic program objectives. Prepare and deliver reports and presentation as needed. Occasional travel between OTD’s Cambridge and Boston offices is required. Other duties as required. Assist the Senior Associate Director of Intellectual Property in the management of the Wyss portfolio, including inventions relating to chemistry, life science, engineering and other inventions in various stages of development, disclosure and patent prosecution. Work with the Wyss team in the development and execution of an overall strategy for coordinating, managing and overseeing the intellectual property (IP) assets of the Wyss Institute at University.
