The candidate responsibilities include: Manage workload and performance of the firm’s Pricing Team. Provide leadership and decision-making support in the evaluation of alternative fee structures and other rate/fee agreements, working to ensure such arrangements meet both client and Firm objectives. Collaborate with lawyers, practice management colleagues, and the business development department to respond to RFPs, pitches, and other pricing proposals; draft financial and pricing responses for submissions. Provide education and guidance to lawyers on strategic pricing approaches, methodologies, and best practices. Analyze financial performance of matters to help evaluate the effectiveness of fee arrangements, budgets, and alternative fee structures; follow up with partners and Firm management as needed. Monitor compliance with firm pricing policies; work with partners and other Firm personnel to ensure compliance. Develop and implement economic models and other financial reporting to support robust analysis of the firm’s pricing platform; identify and assess trends; provide regular reports to Firm management, partners, and clients. Strengthen and maintain internal data mining, tracking, and reporting systems related to matter taxonomy, fee arrangements, cost drivers, etc. Work with business development, accounting, intake, and other departments to develop and implement operational best practices related to pricing and alternative fee structures. Must have 7+ years of applicable experience in the legal industry or other professional services environment, with 5+ years of pricing emphasis, and 2+ years of managerial experience; BS/BA in finance, accounting, business, or related discipline is required; advanced degree preferred; Should have strong business acumen and analytical skills; the ability to develop and successfully execute comprehensive project and operational plans from broadly stated objectives; must have strong technical skills; fluency with the advanced features of Excel, as well as legal accounting systems (preferably Aderant); proficiency with MS Word and PowerPoint and the ability to quickly learn and use software systems associated with designated responsibilities.
