Business Instructor
The candidate will implement and perform business/entrepreneur instruction at High Desert State Prison and California Correctional Center. Will teach all related courses, work to promote student success, and promote student engagement in the program. Plan classes, develop implement and evaluate teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes, and participate in the evaluation, revision and development of curriculum. Undertake the divisional and professional responsibilities of a full-time faculty member. Teach a wide range of business courses. Work with pilot program manager to gather information for program review. Assist with program promotion. Participate in college duties such as committee membership, student advising, curriculum development, program promotion, and college and community services. Prepare lesson plans and grade homework for multiple courses at a time. Compile notes and deliver engaging, coherent lectures. Accumulate specialized materials for outside reading and homework. Study and utilize the most appropriate learning strategies. Engage the class in stimulating discussions. Develop and assess student learning outcomes. Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
