Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing and directing the engineering group responsible for each of the Networking technologies. Directs an engineering team capable of executing large projects accurately taking into account varied and unique product requirements and balancing the priorities of those projects. Acts as an interface to third party vendors from a business and engineering perspective with respect to requirements for meeting company goals and with respect to licensable technology. Provides leadership and direction for diverse and complex functions. Contributes to the development of the organization's business strategy. Interprets business strategy and develops organizational objectives to align with this strategy. Typically manages multiple teams of professionals.

About the Role:

The Senior Director of Business Services Network Engineering (BSNE) supports a team of highly technical network engineers within **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s core Network Engineering function. The role provides vision and network engineering leadership for design, build, and operations supporting the $9B **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. business services revenue stream. The leader will bring a strong technical, operational and managerial skillset to the team and demonstrate a passion and vision for innovative network solutions at one of the largest converged IP networks in the world.

What You'll Do:


Oversees and directs the groups responsible and accountable for the design and scaling of the Metro Ethernet business network infrastructure.

Provide continuous development and improvement of programmable network automation systems that help streamline the release of capacity and product features across the business services network ecosystems. Expectation for innovation and vision in this area is high and will be a key indicator of job performance.

Leads the development of performance metrics and standard operating principles for the Business Services network portfolio. Relentless passion for continuous improvement of service availability through development and deployment of new network service designs.

Budgetary and planning responsibility for a large capital plan, ensuring the timely planning and deployment of assets to the infrastructure for capacity and growth.

Strong partnership and broad cross-functional relationship skills will be essential for alignment with product engineering and network architects to develop and communicate the team vision. Established relationships with leading network industry partners and suppliers is desirable.

Technology scope includes all network platforms: Optical, Routing, Switching, and Ethernet services.


Skills & Experience We're Looking For:


Strong familiarity with Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) standards and experience releasing ethernet services for business customers.

Experience identifying opportunities and assessing requirements for process and automation opportunities in core networks.

Demonstrated experience building and communicating business-technical roadmaps for senior leaders.

Experience developing and managing capital and operating budgets.

Strong technical background in packet-optical, switching and routing technologies.
