Working closely with key stakeholders and executive management across various business units, the role will provide strategic and tactical benefits to the team and wider organization. The selected candidate will require an analytical and strategic skillset with strong capabilities around research and analysis, scenario and strategic planning, and high attention-to-detail (while maintaining focus on the bigger picture) – in order to assess our supply chain, quantify company-wide risks, and drive mitigating actions. A deep understanding of the communications and technology industries is important, with projects requiring a strong grasp of the underlying value chain, market trends, and supplier ecosystem behind the manufacturing of various technologies (including, but not limited to, memory, semiconductors, commodities, etc.). At a high-level, the staff will be expected to drive the following – • Research global market dynamics, wider industry trends, and breaking news updates • Identify and analyze key supply risks across various categories (e.g. technology, services, labor, etc.) • Partner with category leaders to develop cohesive and impactful strategies around risk mitigation • Create and present core messages to wider procurement team, business stakeholders, and executive leadership

Job Description

The candidate will work closely with a Director of Procurement to drive research, analysis, strategy, and communication around risk management. The following areas have been identified as primary objectives (which is not exhaustive and listed only for clarity of main responsibilities):

1) Identification, Analysis, and Monitoring of Supply Risks


Track global market dynamics, wider industry trends, and breaking news updates (including information from vendors), building demand/supply models and understanding the overall market as it relates to the strategy and goals of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
Analyze key procurement risks emerging from political, economic, socioeconomic, technological, legal, environmental, etc. activity, synthesizing significant amounts of information into cohesive summaries that outline the impact to **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
Create standardized framework(s) to categorize, measure, and assess supply risks across the enterprise, including key drivers that may act as early warning signs.


2) Development of Risk Management and Mitigation Strategies


Develop comprehensive strategies in partnership with category leads to manage and mitigate identified procurement risks by category, term, impact, and feasibility.
Drive ongoing evolution and execution of such risk management and mitigation strategies, identifying opportunities for leverage across the enterprise and assessing appropriate short-, medium-, and long-term actions.
Ensure understanding of overall strategic supplier ecosystem and optimal supply dynamics (e.g. pricing, innovation, quality, time-to-market, inventory levels, etc.) by category to inform strategies and actions around procurement risks.


3) Communication of Key Supply Risks


Develop structured and insight-driven reports to continually assess, drive, and document key supply risks, and drive accompanying communication plan towards enterprise procurement team, stakeholders from various business units, and executive leadership.
Create one-off presentations as “deep dives” on current events that present risks to procurement, synthesizing large amounts of research and analysis into a summary of key insights, existing trends and predicted outcomes, and challenges and impact to the wider company.
Utilize scenario planning skills to develop and present comprehensive reports, strategies, and action plans to mitigate risks around supply disruptions on a cross-category and cross-company basis (alongside category leads across companies) to executive leadership teams.
Support policy team with external facing insights and communications around supply chain risk management, etc. as needed.


4) Special Projects


Support strategic efforts around roadmap planning, strategic supplier ecosystems, industry trends, and competitive market dynamics related to cross-category planning and execution across procurement.
Drive and track multiple projects across **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Cable, NBCUniversal, and Sky, ensuring regular executive management updates with project statuses and associated benefits.
Contribute to special projects across the team, such as environmental sustainability, strategy development, process improvements, strategic deals, etc.


In addition to the skills necessary to perform the core functions listed above, the successful candidate will need to be flexible and adaptive in all aspects of the role.
