Summary
Under general direction, this position maintains the smooth operation of assigned multi-user computer systems. Interacts with users and other departments to identify and develop solutions to resolve technical issues and plans and coordinates system changes and/or updates. Participates in the development and monitoring of department procedures and standards and ensures that they are integrated with the company procedures and standards. Duties may include setting up user accounts, maintaining documentation, installing system software, allocation of mass storage space, providing security to computing resources, backing up systems to provide data integrity, and identifying and resolving technical issues. Functions in a leadership/advisory role providing direction to less experienced technical staff and may participate with management in short and long term planning. May analyze vendor products; make recommendations to purchase hardware and software; and, coordinate installations and train users.
Essential Functions
1. Maintains the smooth operation of assigned multi-user computer systems.
2. Interacts with users and departments and identifies and develops solutions to resolve technical/system issues.
3. Develops, plans, guides, and coordinates system changes or upgrades including deployment, resource requirements, testing, documentation, integration, and compliance and safety.
4. Participates in planning for deployment of new and/or updated applications/systems.
5. Functions in a leadership role to less experienced technical staff. May participate in the selection and development of technical staff.
6. May act as the primary contact for suppliers and vendors and analyze vendor products.
7. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
