Consulting for Wordpress - particularly user data import functionality, adding code, short code, to deal with metadata, and posting to Code Snippets plugin.
I am building s few social network websites - one for my high school class reunion, one for my extended family to help create a genealogy tree - using a social network plugin which allows for many interactive features. I want to pre-populate the user roster which would include added profile types and fields. To do this I have been using two user-import data plugins that make use of csv datasets. However, in trying to import users and user data for some custom fields I have created, I having trouble with the plugins user data import functionality. Both plugin authors have been helpful to solve my problem, but have not do so to my satisfaction though one has written php code to help. I need to understand more about metadata export/import. I am looking more for a consultant/ WordPress tutor than a coder. I expect most of the work will involve online chats using screen shots, etc. My intent is to find a person who is expert in WordPress coding. Initially I think the fairest way to proceed is to pay hourly, with billing by the Freelancer based on time spent online chatting or offline work. If we started chatting to answer my questions at, say 1 pm and finished at 1:30, you would bill me, at, say an agreed rate of $12.00 per hour, $6.00, or $1 every five minutes, which would be the minimum billing increment.
I would expect to spend $60-$100 on this project over the course of a couple of weeks. John Bell. Any response should indicate understanding of metadata generation and user import processes.
