Senior Paralegal (Litigation, Risk & Safety)
Responsibilities: Provides litigation support for matters in state or federal court, including opening new matters, preparing litigation holds, discovery and e-discovery support, communications with outside counsel, and maintenance of electronic litigation files. Assists in matter management utilizing the Legal Tracker/Serengeti electronic database program. Coordinates discovery responses and documents/materials/evidence collection with outside counsel and Company personnel. Coordinates Medicare reporting with our third-party administrator. Provides support to the Safety Department for matters related to OSHA investigations/citations and other safety-related matters. Works with counsel to create or streamline processes to improve efficiency of lawsuit management . Compiles data and prepares reports, including Excel spreadsheets. Assists in setting reserves and the annual budgeting process. Monitors service of legal process and ensures prompt and proper handling. Responds to questions from corporate and field personnel, including providing direction regarding compliance with Company policies. Handles internal and external inquiries and proficiently manages communication, exercising discretion regarding confidential and sensitive information. Communicates effectively with all levels of management and staff as well as outside counsel. Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
