DUTIES: Prosecuting Unemployment Insurance Fraud and various types of fraud in welfare programs administered by DES such as the Food Stamps, Cash Assistance, and Child Care Assistance programs. Prosecuting a case, including case assessment and determination of whether to file criminal charges, drafting and filing direct complaints, conducting preliminary hearings and trials, plea negotiations, responding to requests for post-conviction relief, and handling probation violation proceedings. Analyzing complex and diverse legal issues, conducting associated research, and providing written and oral advice to DES on a wide variety of subjects. Analyzing, applying, and advising the client with regard to various federal regulations and state/federal statutes. Drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda, forms and other legal documents.
