CCIE Senior Lead Network Engineer – Boulder, CO
This is a permanent, direct hire opportunity for a true A client with a true, work, life, balance environment!
As the Senior Lead Network Engineer you will be a part of a team of over 100 IT Professionals supporting 2000 users and 2000 Linux and Windows servers. Support staff is based in 6 major worldwide locations.
Assist in the take up of both BAU and project deployment requirements. The Engineer will be accountable for the following:
· Designing and performing upgrades, and migrations in a complex production network infrastructure.
· Advising senior network staff on various projects including design and project deployment plans.
· Performing day to day network operations support.
· Candidate should be familiar with managing project deployments and working with systems teams to understand the requirements.
· Must be familiar with basic hand tools and installing network components in a Data Centre environment. Hands on experience designing and installing is required.
Candidate must be familiar with:
· Cisco Enterprise level switching & routing hardware and technologies.
· Cisco IOS & NX-OS configuration.
· Must be able to demonstrate their ability to troubleshoot and configure OSPF & BGP routing protocols.
MPLS/LDP.
· Expert level skills on OSI Layer 1-4 LAN concepts & connectivity including initial installation an setup.
· PIX/ASA/Juniper firewall hardware and technologies.
· Cisco ASDM, and Juniper ScreenOS firewall configuration.
· Must be familiar with how to configure and troubleshoot IPSec VPNs.
F5 & Cisco CSS/ACE load balancers.
· CCIE Level qualification strongly preferred but not required.
Business competencies Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
o 3-5 years of networking and wide area networking experience in a Cisco environment.
· Management
o Previous Project management and delivery experience in a datacenter environment.
o Able to clearly show a history of delivering on schedule and to standard project work.
Commercial Awareness
· Ability to work with business stakeholders and understand underlying business objectives.
· Availability to perform very limited travel, potentially international
Communication
· Candidate should have good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with executives, operations staff, vendors and peers.
· Must be proficient at creating network diagrams in MS Visio.
· Must be willing to occasionally work outside of normal business hours and carry a cell phone or pager. (paid for by the client)
Must be able to work effectively with other Operations groups (network, server, DBA, UNIX, Windows, etc) in resolving technical issues.
