Senior Programmer Analyst

Work as part of a team of developers to plan, design, document, develop, modify, test, support, and troubleshoot applications and related tools used for processing financial transactions in a POS terminal environment. Also required to conceive and design new processes and solutions to meet business needs as they arise.
Analyze the business requirements and create detailed technical functional specification documents.
Develop the application according to the functional specification document.
Perform thorough unit, integration and system testing.
Support Quality Assurance testing.
Participate in design, documentation, and code reviews.
Advise leadership in the development of solutions offerings and strategic investments.
Identify emerging issues and their impact on the business or project.
Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems.
Responsible for resolving library and application related problems.
Work with technical groups, quality assurance, and customer support groups to resolve problems.
Requirements
Excellent C or C skills. C language programming is preferred but C is ok. Should be willing to learn and work with C.
A strong understanding of the complete life cycle of a software development project.
Ability to provide highly efficient and reusable applications and/or designs.
Enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
A results-oriented attitude is a must.
Ability to plan a technical project for yourself and others so that all milestones are met or exceeded.
An appreciation for the requirements of mission critical systems.
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Ability to implement software to specifications created by others.
Ability to take ownership of large tasks and/or projects with little or no assistance from others.
Ability to train others in your areas of expertise.
Ability to perform as a Business Analyst on multiple simultaneous projects.
Experience in the POS or financial transaction processing industry preferred.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
: B.S./B.A., technical certification, or equivalent experience
Required Knowledge
: Previous application development experience in C or C with terminals from one or more of the following POS equipment vendors: Ingenico, Hypercom/Equinox, Lipman, Castles, PAX or VeriFone
Experience Required
: 4-10 years’ work experience
