Desktop Engineer

***Must be a US Citizen and have an Active Secret clearance***
Responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and support of the desktop environment to include software distribution infrastructure, product lifecycle management, as well as provide tertiary operational support.
Must be familiar with Windows 7 (Mac OS X or Casper experience is a plus), including image building, troubleshooting, group policy, and patching.
Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software on Dell laptops / desktops, printers, and peripherals is required. Candidate must possess a strong knowledge of Outlook and other Microsoft office applications.
Functional Requirements:
3 years relevant work experience
A cert or equivalent and Security CE cert are required to start.
Experience in a DoD Environment
Strong problem solving abilities
Dedication to quality and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Self-motivated, proactive, team player with good organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Required Expertise:
Design, create and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPO) managing the security and configuration of Windows 7.
Has experience administrating and maintaining McAfee or other AV software suite in a government or business environment.
Stays current with Microsoft desktop operating system technology and trends
Has good understanding of the client interrelationship with the server environment, including Active Directory and basic networking fundamentals
Troubleshoots problems involving the desktop operating system, software packaging, and VPN/Remote Desktop connections and escalate issues appropriately
· Create problem tickets, process documentation and manage ticket queue using Remedy
