Profile

Prestigious Firm in Niles, IL is seeking a junior Web Application Developer who has 1-2 years experience in Java or Javascript development. Responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining complex web-based application systems. Troubleshoots system problems and issues and looks for ways to improve applications. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines perform functions of the job. Participates in the creation of work estimates and project plans. Prepares production ready code for promotion to production.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
70% - Analyze, design, and code new and existing programs or formulate logic and program solutions.
20% - Participate in development unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
10% - Other project tasks, such as provide team/track direction, business communications, system documentation and individual and/or team/track management reporting on the status of projects.
Required Qualifications
Education, Licensing, Certification, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years of design, development and implementation in java / website environments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
2 years Java/J2EE, Servlet, JSP, Tag library, SOAP/WSDL, SOA Architecture, JDBC, Stored Procs (DB2 preferred, Oracle is acceptable), SQL (DB2, MYSQL, or Oracle), HTML, XML, Unix Shell Scripting, Junit, Log4j
1 years Hibernate, Spring
2 years Application Web Server (Setup and configuration of Tomcat, Websphere or equivalent on Unix environment)
2 years Web Server (Setup and configuration of Apache on Unix environment)
2 years Unix (Linux or variants preferred), Windows
2 years RDBMS (DB2, MYLSQL or Oracle)
1 years JQuery or equivalent, AJAX/Javascript
Ability to communicate with both IT and non-IT partners.
