EPIC Project Manager (Remote)
--Must have at least 5 years of Epic PM and implementation experience, ideally including Access, Epic Refuel, add on modules, and Connect.
JOB PURPOSE
: This position manages projects assigned to them by their director or VP (usually projects requiring less than 1,000 hours). The project manager works closely with management to identify tasks and ensure assignment and timely completion of tasks, coordinate communication within the team and to the project director, address issues, manage scope and quality, report project progress, and coordinate other tasks as needed for successful and timely completion of projects assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Acts as central point of contact for all project activities of projects assigned to them. Percentage of time: 25%
2. Possesses overall knowledge of tasks to be done and techniques to be used to manage projects. Percentage of time: 15%
3. Together with management, defines the requirements of projects then plans deliverables and tasks (including task assignment) as required to meet those requirements. Percentage of time: 15%
4. Creates and maintains all project documentation as needed and required for successful completion of projects assigned to them. Percentage of time: 15%
5. Manages the day-to-day activities of all projects assigned to them, including team meetings, resource management, measurement of project progress, revision of plans/tasks, and issues resolution. Percentage of time: 15%
6. Ensures responsible parties have the information necessary to make timely decisions to assure efficient project progress and improve probability of meeting deadlines. Percentage of time: 5%
7. Facilitates communication and discussion; creates and provides status reporting to the project teams and ISD management. Percentage of time: 5%
8. Takes initiative to inform management of actions needed to proactively mitigate project risks. Percentage of time: 5%
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
: Preferred: Project management certification (CAPM or PMP from Project Management Institute)
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: Competency using project management tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Microsoft Project or other workflow documentation tools). Working knowledge of Information Technology and hospital operations.
YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum:
2 years of IT project management experience.
Preferred
: 5 years of healthcare IT project management experience. Implementation experience with integrated health care information systems(clinical or non-clinical)
EDUCATION
: Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in healthcare management, information technology, IT business, or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience (2 years of experience for each year of college).
