Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a senior DB2 System Programmer with expertise in z/OS DB2 V9 & V10. The candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a team setting to generate project plans, document procedures and environments, and facilitate knowledge transfer.
Key Accountabilities:
1. All aspects of DB2 system support including installation, version upgrade, maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting in a Parallel Sysplex environment
2. Install, configure and maintain OMEGAMON for DB2 and CA Database Management Solutions for DB2 for z/OS
3. Debugging of DB2 systems and related software
4. DB2 System monitoring and turning using FMF and OMPE Report
5. Knowledge of SQL tuning, IBM Data Studio and DB2 clients
6. In depth knowledge of SMP/E, TCP/IP, RACF and z/OS operating systems
7. Works with vendors on problems identification and resolution
8. Works closely with DBA staff and SAP Basis team to resolve Database related issues
9. Plans and implements strategies and procedures for physical disaster/recovery and contingency planning
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor-s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field and at least 4 years of IT Technical Engineer experience, or at least 8 years of IT Technical Engineer experience in lieu of a degree
2. Minimum 5 years of hands-on DB2 System Programmer with IBM DB2 z/OS
3. Excellent understanding of monitoring and tuning DB2 on z/OS
4. Understand High Availability requirements in a SAP/DB2 z/OS settings
5. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
6. Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
7. Strong customer focus and management of client expectations; ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence in the IT group-s knowledge.
8. Preferred Qualifications:
9. IBM DB2 V9 / V10 for z/OS Certification - with solid experience
10. Experience z/OS system programming
