Technical Illustrator Sr.

Profile

This position requires experience in the preparation of all types of illustrations for Air Force technical manuals. Individual must be able to read and interpret Level III engineering drawings for conversion into TO compatible line drawings. Must be able to convert halftones (photographs) into line drawing and prepare exploded views of equipment to be used in parts breakdowns and for disassembly/assembly instructions. Must also be able to interpret sketches from engineers, technical writers, et al, and convert TO illustrations. Individual must have knowledge/experience with graphics design/management software, including AutoCAD. Supervise other illustrators.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Creates artwork from engineering drawings, photographs or other source material
Performs artwork according to Military Specifications
Prepares art work to include halftones with strong attention to detail
Reads and interprets engineering drawings proficiently
Maintains tracking database
Assigns work to other illustrators in an organized manner
Effectively assists or trains other illustrators
Job Requirements :
Specific Skills/Software:
3 years progressive experience
Proficient in graphics design management software to include AutoCAD, Illustrator and Photoshop
Works well independently or in a team environment
Adapts well to change
Sets priorities effectively and efficiently
Interacts successfully with editorial and government staff
Ensures superior quality
Documents and archives technical material to aid in future related projects
Solves problems efficiently
Possesses strategic and analytical thinking skills with an ability to solve problems and make decisions
Possesses excellent oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Currently hold a Security Clearance
