GENERAL SUMMARY
The SUPERVISOR OF OCCUPANCY & FIXED ASSET ACCOUNTING oversees the Fixed Accounting function.  This individual will be required to challenge and develop their direct report through stretch goals and objectives, projects, initiatives, and interaction with key stakeholders. Oversees and manages day-to-day operations and month-end, quarter-end, year-end close responsibilities. Supports other responsibilities assigned as needed for financial close and reporting. Evaluate new methods or procedures to improve close procedures and daily operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Demonstrate high level of systems knowledge with an ability to understand information from multiple financial systems (Lawson, Service Channel, PowerPivot, Microsoft Access, Oracle FCCS, OnBase, Oracle ARCS, etc.) and will possess the analytical skills to match data between systems
•Must have an in-depth understanding of accounting principles related to the property accounting
•Provides oversight for the fixed asset accounting, including assessment of capitalization criteria for software development projects
•Understands, reviews, and approves journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for fixed asset accounting

•Monitor capital projects and work with business partners on timely and accurate reporting of CIP
•Directly supervises one direct report and coordinates with business partners across the organization
•Ability to execute change management within the function, across the business, and with external customers focusing on system enhancements, electronic solutions, and enhanced KPIs
•Required to present management recommendations based on analytical data to key stakeholders throughout the business
•Prepare external reporting schedules required as support for quarterly annual fillings and assist with auditor fixed asset inquires

•Ability to perform adhoc fixed asset/CIP analysis request by management

•Identify opportunities to automate general ledger activities and improve processes

•Ability to identify inefficiencies, recommend, and implement solutions to improve operations
•Able to analyze business trends and KPIs to improve operational efficiencies
•Ability to work well in a team environment as well as work independently
•Ability to work under moderate supervision to determine and develop approaches and solutions to complex problems
•Detail-oriented
•Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel
 

QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
•4+ years of experience in accounting with more recent experience with capitalization accounting standards
 
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Retail and public accounting experience a plus
 
 
EDUCATION:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred; MBA a plus
