Legal Secretary
The candidate will provide legal secretarial and clerical support to the Attorneys and Legal Assistants within the Department of Legal Affairs. Will draft contracts and other documents for review by attorneys and proofreads completed contracts for accuracy and compliance with the requirements of the Office of General Counsel and University. Act as department liaison with UTMB Administration, UT System's Office of General Counsel, Office of the Attorney General, and outside organizations and opens and closes legal case files. Opens and distributes incoming and prepares outgoing mail and makes travel arrangements for attorneys. Prepares and processes requisitions for the office and processes invoices for payment. Answers and screens telephone calls and orders, distributes, and takes inventory of office supplies and legal publications. Coordinates and maintains appointment, deadline and docket calendars for Attorneys and develops and/or maintains the office records and correspondence filing systems. Prioritizes daily work assignments and adheres to work deadlines and adheres to internal controls established for department.
