Intellectual Property Officer III
The candidate will identify new business development opportunities and manages sponsored research collaborations under a variety of large partnership agreements. Will assist the university faculty and the Innovation Ventures Director to find industry partners and commercialization opportunities, develop collaborations with industry, develop funding sources for university researchers, assist university faculty in developing new business ideas, provide access to new industry technologies for faculty, facilitate education of university basic scientists in translational research, and promote as well as maintain relationships with industry. Works closely with teams in Innovation Ventures to monitor and assure relevant contractual and IP obligations and milestones are met, and to maintain an overall healthy collaborative environment for the program team, including facilitation of disputes and fostering transparency and maintaining communication between stakeholders at university and partners. Coordinate projects with principal investigators, research service analysts and the industry contract group on all pre and post award contracts and agreements, coordinate and run joint steering committee functions, budget and project tracking and organize symposia and meetings. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced intellectual property / technology licensing / transfer professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organization policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
