Demand Media is seeking a talented and innovative Senior User Experience Designer to join the eNom creative team. The ideal candidate will have a significant impact on our business as they take a leadership role in setting the design direction for projects in support of our growing base of cutting edge products.
The designer will work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, executives, and other designers, leading design throughout the planning and development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Code approved concepts utilizing best practices of HTML, CSS.
Generate cutting edge web designs that reflect world-class web properties.
Lead and promote user interface designs using detailed wireframes and prototypes.
Present and collaborate with the executives, product management and peers to define user interfaces and champion the user experience.
Work collaboratively within the development process to ensure effective execution of designs and release of high quality interfaces.
Leverage metric reports such as A/B testing, source ID tracking, and Google analytics to report on the effectiveness released UI.
Support Marketing initiatives with design projects for various channels; such as banner ads and email campaigns.
Requirements:
Strong programming skills using HTML and CSS
5 years’ experience as a user experience, interaction or web designer or similar role.
An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating related experience.
Excellent grasp of typography, color, rhythm, alignment, balance, texture and layout.
Advanced understanding of information design, web accessibility, interaction best practices, limitations and constraints of front-end presentation principals and browser limitations
Experience with responsive design techniques from mobile to large screen.
Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, user-centered design process, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent UX professional experience.
Proven proficiency with coding HTML and CSS using modern web standards.
Experience implementing jQuery.
Proficiency in a variety of design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Axure/wireframe.
Experience working in a collaborative team environment and working directly with developers, program managers, product managers and business owners for implementation of designs.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Passionate self-starter who can be visionary, detailed-oriented and an enthusiastic team player.
Ability to create illustrations, skin UI, and edit images.
Previous experience designing web applications.
Experience creating high and low fidelity prototypes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) is a plus.
Knowledge of the domain industry is a plus.
Bootstrap or similar UI framework experience.
.NET development environment experience.
Visual Studio or similar IDE.
Team Foundation Server or similar source control system experience.
Familiarity with SEO best practices.
AB Testing experience using Optimizely or similar tool.
Data driven design using Google Analytics or similar tacking solution.
Experience designing infographics a plus.
