Assistant Attorney General (attorney Ii)
The candidate will work for Insurance Fraud Division Unit. Will prosecute a variety of cases throughout the State of South Carolina in General Sessions Court. Under limited supervision, performs legal functions of the Criminal Division/General Prosecution Section/Insurance Fraud Division Unit. Cases involve insurance fraud crimes and working with insurance companies and law enforcement agencies at all levels. Will serve as prosecutor in trials and hearings. Will perform research and prepare or advise on a variety of documents to include legal memoranda, indictments, and arrest warrants. Prepare and respond to discovery requests and motions. Must be able to coordinate work with assigned agents. May perform other related duties as requested by the Attorney General and Chief Deputy Attorney General. Must be able to conform to and maintain established State Grand Jury procedures and processes. Some travel required. Will be sworn to SGJ secrecy and be included in random drug testing program.
