The AHCCCS Information Services Division (ISD) is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Sr. Database Administrator (Consultant). The Sr. Database Administrator (Consultant) will maintain and support daily operations of al AHCCCS database systems, which include Oracle, Azure, and Microsoft SQL Server. The Sr. Database Administrator will be responsible for planning and analyzing the design, implementation and maintenance of major database facilities as well as resolving any related technical problems. This person will also be asked to monitor daily/weekly database backups as well as disk space and performance monitoring to achieve optimal database performance. This individual should have a strong technical background with extensive experience in administrating critical database environments. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Supporting, maintaining and troubleshooting daily operations of AHCCCS database systems
Monitors, reviews, tests, and performs database support and system upgrade and maintenance.
Performs database systems and applications troubleshooting.
Performs database systems production oncall support.
Monitors daily/weekly database backups
Monitors disk space and database performance to achieve optimal performance levels
Advises programmer analysts on the design and use of logical and physical database structures.
Assists in the recovery of databases in the event of data loss.
Performs programming tasks of moderate difficulty associated with database performance.
Enforces standards and procedures relating to data integrity
Evaluates, recommends and performs installation upgrades of database releases and patch sets
Resolves customer support tickets in a timely manner.

Selective Preferences

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related area
5 years of database administration experience in Oracle and SQL Server environments
5 years of experience in application programming, analysis, and design
