The candidate will support the Assistant Dean for Advancement and External Affairs with the goal of engaging College of Law alumni in a meaningful way and promoting philanthropic support of the College of Law’s mission. Implement a successful strategic plan to develop and maintain strong relationships with the College of Law’s over 10,000 alumni. In coordination with the advancement team and the College of Law’s communications team, the candidate will design and execute a set of extensive programming and communications strategies to ensure deep and ongoing engagement of College of Law alumni. Develop and implement high-quality regional programs of interest to College of Law alumni in cities with heavy concentrations of College of Law alumni. Direct and implement programs and outreach designed to enhance alumni engagement to increase philanthropic support for the College of Law. As appropriate, work closely with the Office of Alumni Engagement and the three regional offices to engage alumni interested in College of Law updates, news, current events, etc. and to integrate College of Law alumni in alumni initiatives. Collaborate with the central alumni engagement team to create and promote innovative alumni engagement opportunities that are consistent with the overall mission and vision of the College of Law. Provide leadership to the College of Law’s Alumni Association Board. Direct and organize two major meetings per year and Annual Reunion Weekend. In partnership with the Advancement and External Affairs team, recruit alumni for the Board and recommend alumni for leadership roles on the board. In partnership with the communications team, develop an effective alumni communications plan. Effectively communicate with alumni using social media. Provide timely responses to alumni inquiries and actively post, manage and participate in social media communities; manage alumni department on the College of Law website; manage all aspects of online tools used by the Office of Advancement and External Affairs. In partnership with the development team, develop an annual alumni giving program, particularly for graduating students, and implement an appropriate donor recognition program, particularly for graduating students. Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward recent alumni in support of the College’s annual giving program. In partnership with College of Law Faculty and the Career Services team, develop opportunities for alumni to return to campus to meet with students both informally and in classes. Develop and manage alumni networks to support student recruitment and career placement of College of Law graduates. Build corporate relationships that enhance partnering with the College of Law for internships, externships, career opportunities, special programs/seminars, and speakers. Research businesses and firms that employ College of Law alumni and develop an outreach plan. In partnership with international program staff, develop and implement a strategy for systematically engaging international program alumni. Serve as the alumni editor of the College of Law magazine and develop materials for the magazine including features on alumni events and profiles on interesting and successful College of Law alumni. In partnership with the development team, oversee donor acknowledgment and stewardship. Support the Assistant Dean in oversight of and engagement with the College of Law’s Board of Advisors.
