Department: Hatchery – Eufaula, Alabama
Position: Maintenance Generalist MG02
Work Shift: 1st Shift (5:00 am – 3:00 pm)
Schedules are Monday thru Friday but may vary and may require overtime and holidays. Must be willing to complete all required training for the job and perform any other duties assigned.
SUMMARY:
Maintenance Generalist are responsible for but not limited to:
Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction
Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems
Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations
Lubricate equipment with various grease and oils
Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule
Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs
Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs
Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision
Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision
Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed
Perform janitorial services if needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity. It can be dusty, warm, cold and/or humid.
Requirements :
Minimum experience of three years in Maintenance or Maintenance related field
High school diploma or equivalent
Understanding of computerized preventative maintenance programs
Ability to understand technical mechanical concepts
Th e ability and willingness to lift 50 pounds safely and properly, as well as function while wearing the proper safety equipment for the job being performed at that time - safety minded
Ability to work in all areas of the hatchery (i.e. enclosed spaces, heights, etc)
Must be able to work in hot/cold, wet, humid, and dusty environments
Use of hands and arms above shoulder level
Able stand 8-10 hours a day
Must be able to climb steps and ladders to/from work areas
Must be able to read, write, and have a basic knowledge of math
Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and management
Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl to be considered
