In this newly formed position you will help drive integration and usage of Verizon Terremark's Cloud working closely with technology partners and customers (internal/external) helping grow an ecosystem around the Verizon Terremark Cloud platform.
This ideal candidate has worn multiple hats during his or her career, serving in pre-sales or post-sales deployment of enterprise hardware and software solutions; either as a Systems Engineer, Solutions Architect, Senior Technical Support Engineer, or within Engineering as a developer, or QA/QE Engineer. The candidate must enjoy working with new technology, as well as helping customers and partners consume this technology. In addition to ensuring successful integration of products and services with the Verizon Terremark Cloud, you will provide feedback to product development teams jointly providing both tactical solutions and contributing to the strategic evolution of the Verizon Terremark cloud offering and ecosystem.
*Required Skills & Experience
Solid understanding of virtualization technologies; hypervisors (Xen, KVM, VMware, Hyper-V etc.) and virtualized networking.
Understanding and basic usage of common cloud offerings from Amazon, Rackspace, Microsoft, etc.
Solid background installing and supporting Enterprise Applications (Databases, Web servers, Application servers, ERP systems etc.)
Solid OS (Windows and Linux) and Networking skills including TCP/IP, Routers, Firewalls, Load Balancers.
Strong understanding of storage and storage concepts, including LVM, RAID, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS, etc.
Experience consuming public API's/Web Services and integrations
Experience with Enterprise Applications including Web Servers, Application Servers, and database servers.
Experience in one or more scripting and/or programming languages (Java, Python,Perl, PHP, TCL, Ruby, VB/C#/.NET, etc.)
Exposure to and understanding of virtual appliances.
At least 1-3 years interfacing with customers or technology partners directly in a Sales
Engineering, Consulting, or Technical Support, or a similar Partner Engineering role.
The candidate must have a BSCS or BSEE and 5 years experience.
Desired Skills & Experience
Preference for candidates who are cloud power users with extensive use of AWS, Rackspace, other public clouds and the surrounding cloud ecosystem.
