Description:
Provide the expertise to the Network Administration team on Windows Server platforms setup, configuration and network integration on the overall technical knowledge and day-to-day technical administration for the network area of responsibility. Serve as an intermediary systems integrator between desktop and servers. Ensure the deployment of desktop platforms in to the network infrastructure as well as their performance, security, databases, accessibility, backups and recovery.
Ensure that new Windows Server hardware, databases, operating systems, user software, are included in all training material, documentation and backup/recovery plans.
Ensuring the Windows Server hardware, software products and operating systems are being set-up and maintained in accordance with prescribed procedures.
Ensure the Windows Server hardware, software products and operating systems support procedures are developed and maintained.
Prioritize work assignments and follows up to make sure solutions to problems work.
Actively develop good organization and planning skills, understanding the ‘big picture’ while getting involved in detailed aspects of the network.
Communicate daily with group team on technical status of current initiative and incidents.
Demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills, shows initiative in dealing with issues as they arrive.
Develop constructive working relationships with the configuration management personnel, Leads and Managers.
Work with a high degree of independence to develop and maintain the Windows Server platforms and their infrastructure.
Provide technical resource for staff, providing advice, training and technical support.
Develop relationships with team lead in evaluating the current Windows Server configurations and making decisions on future development.
Provide information for the Quarterly Fast Track lists of software / support renewals.
Become a SalesForce administrator.
Become one of the phone system administrators.
Monitor the state of the infrastructure, servers, and desktops in the building and provide guidance quarterly about the state of the hardware.
Provide guidance for future technologies to assist BSI in staying current.
Provide test environments / development environments to BSI Staff to be able to support the Corporate Goals.
Provide / acquire quotes for all hardware to be purchased.
Maintain the BSI backups performed in Norcross.
Maintain the Machine Room and the SaaS lab.
Assist internal users with VPN access troubleshooting.
Review the Fixed Asset list annually, recycle obsolete hardware, and provide removal information to the Office Manager.
Qualifications:
Technical Trade Degree or equivalent experience. At least 3 years experience in an environment working in Desktop Support, Databases, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Office. A , MCP, MCSE or DBA certification a plus.
Experience with Windows 2005 Virtual Server and Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V
Has a high level of proficiency in all Windows Platforms, McAfee Antivirus domain, Computer Imaging software, VPN, Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suites, ODBC, enterprise backup, database creation and VMware.
Has the ability to achieve a high level of knowledge about the Internal and External business structures.
Has the ability to maintain, develop and promote corporate Windows Server standards.
Is able to devise ways to improve and enhance Windows Server administration policies and procedures.
Can provide overall knowledge of the Windows Server platforms; provide technical insight to department lead and manager regarding direction of bug fix requests, access requests, etc.
Is able to work long hours to support emergency response as needed to correct system failures.
Is able to stay on top of new technologies as they emerge and impact our network, you are expected to learn these technologies quickly and resolve any problems in integrating new technologies with our network.
Demonstrates good written and oral communications skills, necessary to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personnel as well as to teach, and lead technical discussions and information.
