Profile

Associate Attorney - Immigration

Miami, Florida | Full-Time | In-Office

$110,000 to $150,000 DOE | 20% Origination Bonus | Bilingual English/Spanish

This role offers a balance many immigration attorneys look for: meaningful time in court on removal and asylum cases, alongside family-based and naturalization work, with an experienced team supporting you along the way.

Our client is an established immigration law firm in Miami, Florida representing individuals and families across South Florida. The practice covers humanitarian and removal defense, federal litigation, and family-based immigration, and it is built on strong client advocacy and staying with clients through every stage of their case.

This is a long-term role with an established practice, not a steppingstone. You will own a diverse caseload from first consultation to final outcome with an experienced team behind you, and the firm offers relocation help if you are moving to the area.

About the Role

You will handle a mix of removal defense, humanitarian, and family-based matters, splitting your time between immigration court and USCIS. Expect to run consultations, appear at hearings, and keep clients informed from start to finish.

Business development is rewarded, not required. Bring in a client and you earn a 20% origination bonus with no cap, plus additional performance incentives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse immigration caseload from first consultation through final resolution

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court, including master calendar and individual hearings

  • Handle humanitarian matters, including asylum and other protection from removal

  • Prepare waivers and other applications for relief

  • Prepare family-based petitions and green card applications, and represent clients at USCIS interviews

  • Guide permanent residents through naturalization

  • Draft briefs and motions and conduct legal research

  • Keep clients informed with clear, consistent communication and meet every court deadline

Experience and background:

  • 2+ years of immigration law experience, including time in Immigration Court

  • Strong legal research, writing, and courtroom skills

  • Experience with immigration case management software (such as Clio, Docketwise, INSZoom, or LollyLaw) is a plus

Must-haves:

  • J.D. and active bar admission in good standing in any U.S. state

  • Fluent in English and Spanish

  • A passion for advocating for immigrants and their families

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a busy caseload

Benefits

  • Salary: $110,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience

  • 20% origination bonus on clients you bring in, with no cap, plus additional performance incentives

  • Medical insurance, with the firm paying 60% of the employee-only premium, plus optional dental, vision, and gap coverage available at employee cost

  • 401(k) retirement plan, with a company match planned soon

  • 10 days of paid time off in your first year

  • Relocation assistance available for candidates moving to South Florida

  • Free parking

How to Apply

Submit your resume and a cover letter for consideration. This is a confidential search managed by Build My Great Team, and the firm's name will be shared with candidates who move forward to interviews. Applications are reviewed as they arrive, so qualified candidates are encouraged to apply early.

Equal Opportunity Employer

Our client is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
