**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. seeks an energetic, highly motivated, self-starter to join our Traffic Operations Center (TOC) Management Team as a TOC Project Manager. Initially the selected TOC Project Manager will focus on business development; working closely with the TOC operations management team to identify our next target for expansion; developing client relationships to pre-sell our vision for excellence in operations management; and ensuring our goals and our prospective clients’ goals are aligned. During this period, the selected candidate will also work on site to support existing TOC operations and learn about CREST, our full employee lifecycle management framework. Once the targeted expansion is realized, the TOC PM will relocate to a client site in an embedded position to manage the transition and delivery of 24-7 operational services.
 
Job Description
 
The candidate will be involved in leading and overseeing all aspects of a complex, multifaceted regional transportation operations center. The Operations Center is a 24 hours a day, 365 days a year operation, committed to enhancing travel safety and transportation efficiency by managing incidents, controlling traffic, and providing accurate information to the traveling public. You will be responsible for the strategic management of control room operations, ensuring that operational and business objectives are met and will report directly to the client manager. You will be required to deliver highly motivated and appropriately skilled staffing in an environment of continuous improvement. Throughout the project you will deliver excellence in customer relationship management while maintaining business continuity and provide direction and support to staff during critical and major incidents. You will also be required to be available 24-7 and work off-hours work in response to emergency situations.

The appropriately qualified candidate will have the following core competencies and required experience:
 
• Proven ability to provide strong leadership with demonstrable expertise in motivation, conflict resolution and employee retention. • Extensive experience managing a variety of employees and coaching / training supervisory staff in employee management.
• Must be detailed oriented, possess excellent organizational skills and be able to work independently with minimal level of supervision.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to interact with Department of Transportation and **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. management/staff at all levels.
• Extensive client management experience
• Ability to coordinate real time activities and priorities
• Superior computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• An understanding of key human resources and management concepts
• Ability to work alternate work schedules and be on call 24 hours/day as appropriate to manage a 24/7/365 operation.
• Ability to relocate to the client site
• Bachelor's degree required, but may consider years of experience in lieu of degree, other professional certifications (including PMP or equivalent) a plus.
 
Desired Experience:
 
• Managerial experience in an public sector operational environment
• Operations management in a 24/7 operation (i.e. call center, 911 center, or emergency services center) or similar experience
• Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
• Experience with Incident Management concepts
• Experience with Emergency Operations
