Supports enterprise level healthcare applications such as Allscripts, Cerner, Epic or Meditech with experience and advocacy from a technical viewpoint.  Diagnoses user issues for these applications from a technical perspective, such as understanding authentication issues, printing issues, patching, system performance monitoring and maintenance.  Understands infrastructure implications of internally hosted applications as well as remotely hosted.  Involved with various ITIL processes for these applications. 
 
Responsibilities:
 


Works support tickets from some of these applications with technical advocacy, such as printing, authentication, monitoring, networking issues, as well as other technically oriented issues.

Participates in ITIL processes related to the healthcare applications.

Participates in patching and system maintenance of some specialized infrastructure (but not the entire environment).

Reviews, monitors and responds to security audit findings.

Using and managing monitoring tools like Goliath or Riverbed, or using scripting to monitor physical infrastructure.

Reviewing and reviewing various logging tools like syslogs.

Use of common Enterprise level infrastructure tools such as VCenter.

Using networking troubleshooting tools such as WireShark, tracert, ping.

Knowledge of Active Directory or LDAP.

Understanding Citrix environments and troubleshooting those environments

Understanding of SQL databases and reporting from SQL databases is desirable.



Coding VB or other type of scripts (such as Summit or Boston Workstation) is desirable.

Collection, formatting and reporting of data collection such as system availability, patching status, etc.

Coordinating and tracking build and decommission of server infrastructure.

Education and Experience
 
Required


Bachelor’s Degree in related field OR may substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience

Demonstrated communication and collaborative skills

7 years IT /application experience (or combination of education / experience)

Ability to be involved with work efforts on multiple project deliverables

Demonstrated ability to diagnose, assist or lead others in diagnosis of technical issues or workflow issues.
Highly Preferred, but not Required


3 years of experience supporting clinical systems (Allscripts, Cerner, Epic, Meditech, etc.)

3 years of experience in a health care environment

Experience in a large, multi-entity organization at the enterprise level

Experience in working with other teams to achieve results

Prior positions that involved mentorship of others

Familiar with ITIL processes
