DYNAMITY, a leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals has an immediate opening for a Business Intelligence Engineer for a direct hire opportunity at a client in Louisville, KY.

POSITION SUMMARY:
LeadS the Business Intelligence program and practices to deliver relevant, timely and insightful information to the business. The ideal candidate will champion and rally the organization around BI, in a culture of data-driven decision-making, with a demand for business intelligence that is timely, accurate, and actionable. As a BI Engineer working on various analytics platformS, the BI Engineer will be developing and supporting the analytic technologies that give customers flexible and structured access to their data. The BI Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing a platform using third-party and in-house reporting tools, modeling metadata, building reports and administering the platform software; including also some requirements gathering, data modeling, report creation and automation, end user education and training.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
-- Understand Key Performance Measures and Indicators that drive company measurement, reporting and analytics across key data sources and functions
-- Operations/Logistics, HR, IT/Systems, Compliance and Risk Management.
-- Build and manage the library portfolio of model metrics, documents, templates, reports, dashboards or other reusable BI assets, to understand day to day operations and drive key business decisions.
-- Perform logical and physical data modeling to support business intelligence initiatives.
-- Use data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to develop and maintain customer segmentation and predictive models to drive or inform the business
-- Performs statistical analysis against healthcare data to develop models and identify trends in support of the business.
-- Recommends and implements data quality improvement processes and initiatives.
-- Develops Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) processes to acquire and load data from internal and external sources.
-- Represents the IT team through interaction with business users or business analyst to gather reporting and analytic requirements, including partnering in development or providing training
-- Collaborates with developers, stakeholders and subject-matter experts to establish technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
-- Partners with the platform administrator to ensure n-tier or interdependent systems function in a high performance manner
-- Grows internal analysts with cross training and delegated development opportunities when appropriate


KEY COMPETENCIES / SUCCESS FACTORS:
-- Thorough knowledge of data architecture and data management principles.
-- Deep understanding of database systems including both relational and OLAP designs.
-- Proven experience in business intelligence and data analytics.
-- Relevant experience with UI development and/or BI data visualization techniques.
-- Thorough working knowledge of statistical data analysis.
-- Excellent priority and time management skills; can effectively implement multiple projects.
-- Strong SQL and report development and optimization experience.
-- Willingness to partner with business professionals or groups.
-- Ability to organize information in an effective manner, to showcase relationships, qualities, quantities, and priorities, in a non-trivial, but accessible and impactful manner.
-- Strong verbal / written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
-- Proficient experience using Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint in a Windows operating system.

REQUIREMENTS:
-- Bachelors in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics Finance, Healthcare Information
-- 1-2 years data analysis and business intelligence experience preferred.
-- 1-2 years of experience with ETL technologies preferred
-- 1-2 years healthcare data background preferred.
-- 3-5 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Engineer or comparable experience preferred.
-- Work with BI suites such as Tableau, MSI, SAP BO, Cognos, SSRS/SSAS, OBIEE or other enterprise class tools. For instance: Informatica, Datastage, Adeptia, SSIS, Pervasive Data Integrator, Talend or other enterprise class tools.
-- Excellent knowledge of SQL, Excel, and OLAP.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, AND CERTIFICATIONS
-- CBIP certification preferred.
-- MCSE: Business Intelligence certification preferred.
-- ITIL3 certification preferred.
