Profile
Graduate Fellowship Program
The Fellowship Program places new associates from law firms at public interest law agencies in Illinois, where they are typically paid by their hiring firm to work for 300 hours between graduation and joining the firm. The Fellow will work on a wide and diverse range of issues depending on the agency where they serve. Will also work on transactional matters such as policy development and analysis, advocacy, impact litigation and more. Fellows will primarily conduct research and writing, including public policy work, in support of the Center's mission to reduce poverty. In addition to legal research and writing, Fellows occasionally contribute to substantive articles for an online source of information for the advocacy community; a periodic newsletter of Women's Law and Policy project on issues affecting low-income women and girls; and the blog. Will be invited to participate with advocates with work in the field, as schedules and time permit. Fellows also participate in behind-the-scenes meetings with advocacy staff, coalition partners and decision-makers.
Additional Information
Send cover letter and resume. The Center may request unofficial transcripts (or class schedule for first term 1L students), legal writing sample, and list of references.
