One of the industries that is very important in Miami is finance and commerce, which can be seen by the number of major companies that are present. Also, Miami has been chosen as a regional headquarters for over 1400 multinational corporations for their Latin American divisions, as these companies would rather be based in the United States than a third world country. These corporations provide countless jobs in Miami and are some of the reasons why the city is one of the more desirable destinations for professionals in the entire country.

Something that goes along with the increase in these corporate entities is the increase in the number of buildings in the city. The city's skyline is now ranked third in the country, behind New York and Chicago, and it is continuing to add more of these major buildings each and every year. For scientists, Miami is a great place to look for work because it is home to the National Hurricane Center. With that being said, this center needs employees in other areas as well, so it might be a place to look for jobs in Miami if you have an interest in that sort of thing.
